Appearance

Azula is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful characters in Avatar, outshining even spunky Ty Lee and motherly Katara.

Azula, being from royalty, is usually seen dressed in cloth with a light armor headdress and armor around her waist and thighs. She has amber, practically brown, eyes, and very pale skin. She has dark hair, about up to her waist, bound in a bun that allows two thick wisps to escape.

History/ Life Story

Azula grew up luxuriously in the Fire Nation as princess. She was and is a firebending prodigy: When she was only eight, she already outmatched many older firebenders in skill. Her cruelty and calculating was already visible when she was very young, and for this her father favored her.
She also seemed to harbor negative feelings toward Zuko, probably because his birthright made him next in line for the throne. When he was scarred, scorned and banished, she could be seen watching with great happiness and enthusiasm.
Even in banishment Zuko continued to embarrass Ozai, who consequently decided he must lock his son up forever. However, tracking and capturing Zuko would be no easy task, and Ozai had no interest in doing it personally. Instead he sent Azula, his prodigious daughter and the only person he felt he could trust with the mission. Azula immediately set out to capture her brother. She composed a small, elite team, consisting of Mai and Ty Lee, her childhood friends. However, when she located the Avatar, Azula temporarily dispelled her search for her brother to bring Aang into Fire Nation custody.
Azula's chase led her to Ba Sing Se, which she entered under the guise of the Kyoshi Warriors. Azula gained the favor and loyalty of the Dai Lee, and with their help she takes down the Earth Kingdom. She even discovers her brother's residence in the city, and with quiet stealth kidnaps and locks him away. She eventually manipulates Zuko into defeating the avatar and betraying Uncle. The two, with Mai and Ty Lee, travel to Ember Island, where Azula confesses her one insecurity: her mother's thinking she was a monster.
Eventually, Zuko joined the avatar, and accompanied by Sokka, journeyed to The Boiling Rock in an attempt to rescue the troops lost after the invasion. However, during the ordeal, Zuko's identity is discovered, and he is captured and imprisoned. Azula, learning of brother's captivity, journeys to The Boiling Rock; probably to do something very nasty to him. However, with help from Sokka, Zuko and others attempt a daring escape plan-which almost goes wrong. as Azula and Ty Lee attempt to stop the escape, but Mai rescues her boyfriend and his company. For this, Azula angrily attacks her, but Ty Lee disables her. As a result the two are locked away-this intended to be forever.
Azula cannot shake her friends' betrayal and eventually goes mad. When she and Zuko fight in an Agni Kai, her instability leads to her defeat (as well as Zuko's greatly improved bending abilities). Zuko is concerned for his sister, and sends her to a mental health facility.

Personality

Azula is cold, cunning, cruel and calculating. She is an accomplished strategist, always able to turn other conspiracies against their creators to her favor. Azula is heartless, and her insensitivity gains her her father's favor.
Azula controls people with fear rather than trust and friendship.

Bending

Azula is a firebending prodigy in her own father's words. She uses more intense blue flames, which are fully combusted. Although the flames seem to be just as powerful as any other fire seen on the show, we can assume using blue fire is an amazing feet because she used orange flames as a child. Her fire is seen as being strong and hot enough to cause rock to deteriorate and break up.
Azula is very tireless in her bending, never showing any signs of wear until the finale. This is because of her dominance in battle and controlling nature, Azula is always in control and as a result is very cool and collected in combat. She uses a very small amount of energy because she executes attacks through her fingertips; however, her attacks are just as powerful, even more, as that of any other firebender despite their minimal amount.
Azula is very acrobatic and uses very complex maneuvers not even attempted by other benders.
