Historic Biography:
Diao Chan was "adopted daughter" of a man named Wang Yun. She was
described as beautiful enough to make to moon behind the clouds with
shame. Wang Yun quickly employed this trait to manipulate the tyrant
Dong Zhuo, and his mighty stepson, Lu Bu. Captivating both with her beauty,
Diao Chan 
eventually was the cause of Dong Zhuo's death.

Biography:
Diao Chan is portrayed as a fair maiden
who (to Dong Zhuo) willingly serves the tyrant Dong Zhuo although she has a
good heart. But in Lu Bu, and her own eyes, she is a captive to Dong Zhuo that
eagerly awaits the day that her sentence will be ended. By of course, her
handsome prince, Lu Bu. Diao Chan is portrayed as the only person that can
soothe Lu Bu when he is angered. Even if she cannot manage to accomplish
this,
she sticks by his side. In one particular battle, Xia Pi, she is unable
to comfort Lu Bu and he rushes into battle. Diao Chan follows him, and as all
others defect, she fights by his side until she can fight no more. In her
exhaustion and vulnerability, she is easily killed, and a furious Lu Bu,
allows his anger to fight his battles. However, in other battles before her
death, Diao Chan is shown as a girl that fights with elegance, grace, although
not efficiently. She constantly depends on Lu Bu for defense in
battle.
