Pang Tong

Historic Biography:

Pang Tong was a qualified strategist, often called the Fledgling Phoenix. Pang Tong had no particular master when Lu Su recommended him to Sun Quan. Pang Tong openly boasted about himself, repulsing Sun Quan, who was also somewhat disturbed by Pang Tong's strange appearance (particularly his thick eyebrows). Later on, in the Battle of Chi Bi, Pang Tong suggested that they chain together Cao Cao's navy so as to allow the fire to sharpen the attack.  He proceeded to devote himself to the cause of Shu and Liu Bei.

However, it was through his arrogance that Pang Tong met his cruel end. In a certain battle, he wanted to move forward, but Zhuge Liang advised against it, for the stars had a foreboding. But Pang Tong was convinced that Liang was only jealous, and pressed forth regardless. Liu Bei had lent Tong his white steed. The enemy caught sight of Tong, and confused him for Liu Bei because Tong was riding his horse. They ambushed and killed Pang Tong. Ironically, (or this may be made up) Pang Tong, died on the 'Fallen Phoenix Hill', which is surprisingly fitting as he was the Fledgling Phoenix.
