What is a transparent image? It's probably confusing to you...See how the image of Sun Shang Xiang mounted on the pink backdrop retains its white background? If you're trying to make a background, that will be a terrible nuisance. 

Transparent images do not have any backdrop and so when you mount it on a new background, will just take whatever color the background is. It took me forever to learn how to do this, because I just couldn't get the magic wand.
