The Story:
Historic:
Zhen
Ji and Cao Pi's relationship was rough from the start; it never had much of a
promising start. Cao Pi was on the battlefield one day when he say Zhen Ji and
fell in love with her instantly. Fitting, as she was a figurehead of
beauty. However her
husband, Yuan Xi (son of Yuan Shao) was still alive, and insulted, Ji refused
marriage to Pi. Cao Pi insisted,
forcing her to marry him. In the end she had no other choice but to accept.
Eight months after, Zhen Ji gave birth to Cao Rui. However,
rumors
spread quickly that this boy may not be Cao Pi's but that of Zhen Ji's other
husband. Guo Nüwang, Cao Pi's other favorite lady, took advantage of this.
She tightened the tension,
and soon Zhen Ji lost Cao Pi's favor, upsetting her. The wicked Guo Nüwang
used this to her favor yet again. She reported Zhen Ji's fury to Cao Pi. He
became even angrier at her, and then had her forced to commit suicide.
In the end, Cao Rui discovered what had happened, and
although he had made Guo Nüwang empress, he then forced her to commit
suicide. He also learned that Guo Nüwang had requested that Zhen Ji's hair
cover her face and her mouth be filled with rice shells, so that even though
she was dead she could not complain. Further angered, he had the same thing
done to her.
